This weekend I received a couple of unexpected things in the mail. One was a wonderful postcard from some of my Davis friends. The other was a Patchwork Prayer Quilt made for me by a member of a group called Charlotte's Garden who apparently pray while making quilts for terminally ill people. The patches are images of books, slide rules, compasses, strait edges, triangles, an abacus, and translations of "live, laugh, love" into 14 languages. As some of you know I sort of adopted that phrase as a motto shortly after we were plunged into this experience. Amazing how much support I receive even from people I have never met.
