I turn thirty today. I honestly didn't really realize it until a few days ago. Of course, it is anticlimactic, especially seeing as how I've felt like a senior citizen for the past four years. That reminds me of a time when I had gone back to school and I was walking home one day and a little girl asked her mother why that “old man” was walking funny. The mother said I didn't look so old and so I replied “I'll have to try harder next time.”
My Dad stared making suggestions for what to do for my birthday yesterday, all of which I vetoed. Most were too noisy. I don't really want to do anything other than have a piecefull and quiet day and to eat the carrot cake Mom is making today. I think Dad is disturbed that I choose not to have our traditional angle-food cake that we always have for birthdays.
